Herndon 5K Fun Run

By sckuti

Capgemini, a worldwide consulting firm with an office in Herndon Virginia, is hosting the inaugural 5K Fun Run benefiting Schools for Humanity. The race is at Lake Fairfax in Reston on April 19th, 2008 to support this great charity. Contributions will go towards providing formal education to children in the underprivileged areas of the world.

Schools for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and learning for the world’s disadvantaged children. Their mission is to ignite individual development by providing innovative educational solutions to children that would otherwise not have this opportunity. To do this, Schools for Humanity designs and develops schools that contain customized education solutions that augment and supplement existing educational institutions. Schools for Humanity has a charter school project in Ethiopia, and an upcoming school refurbishment project in Mumbai, India. Additionally, there are plans to expand their efforts in Mexico and the US in the coming year.

You can register online at SfhFunRun.com. Registration is $15. Register before April 4, 2008 to reserve a free T-shirt to commemorate the occasion.
