Fairfax Symphony Concert
By fairfaxsymphony
Please join other music lovers for an exciting concert on November 10th at GMU's Center for the Arts in Fairfax.
Whether you prefer Wagner's Rienzi Overture, Barber's Violin Concerto, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1 in F Minor, or don’t know any of them, you will be infused with the very special electricity that zooms around the concert hall when audience and performers share the music with each other. It’s an experience that can be had only in person. We think you will find it to be relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.
The guest artist is the dashing New Mexio Symphony conductor, Guillermo Figueroa. A Berlioz specialist, he created the most comprehensive Berlioz Festival in the U.S. in 2003 to commemorate Berlioz’s 200th birthday.
Also a renowned violinist, Figueroa is a founding member of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. With Orpheus, he has been concertmaster and soloist in performances throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and made more than fifty recordings for Deutsche Grammophon.
So please join us at 8:00 p.m., November 10th, at GMU’s Center for the Arts. (A free, pre-concert discussion of the music begins at 7:00 p.m.) Tickets begin at $25; Students with I.D. - $15. Call 888-945-2468 or go to www.fairfaxsymphony.org
